The brief

To capture a mixture of product and lifestyle shots which Teppi can use on their website, on flyers, on Pinterest and on Instagram. Some images would be more product-focused and simpler in styling, with other shots showing plates/mugs in use and being held.

These images should be a mix of seasonal (aka Christmas and Halloween) and year-round styling but always cosy and Scandi-inspired. The sort of styling that would appeal to a female audience who appreciates investing in unique and beautiful details by a UK based handmade small biz.

The approach

We created three main vibes in the studio. Firstly, for the Halloween-inspired pieces, we created a warm, inviting and autumnal home with lots of neutral and orange-tones. Secondly, for Teppi’s festive ceramics, we create a scandi-style Christmas home with lots of dusty greens (including eucalyptus which is one of our faves to use as a prop!). Lastly, we created a couple of all-year-round cosy home set-ups such as a bed with white duvet and piles of blankets as well as a living room area with a green wall and rattan chair.

As well as more obvious product shots, we captured images that showed the ceramics in use, which included croissants and jam on the Good Morning plate (of course these were eaten after shooting!). The matching mug and biscuit plate was calling out for some lovely biccies and we tried to source the most photogenic and in keeping ones we could (these were some nutty ones which have a great texture and look great on camera).

The results

Lydia and Ella were presented with a gallery of images they could use across the Teppi website and social media during autumn, winter and into the new year. All the images were provided in portrait orientation that suited their own website design and most social media platforms, such as Instagram.

Looking at the shoot overall, it is calm, it is cosy and it reflects Teppi’s brand which aims to help people live slower, appreciate little moments and enjoy the simplicity of the Scandinavian lifestyle. Despite being a mix of seasonal imagery, it still gives that mindful feel overall and ties together cohesively.
